Ghosts Of Bitton House Teignmouth 10th July 2026
Bitton House History
Bitton House, located in Teignmouth, Devon, is a historic building with a rich history that dates back to the medieval period. The name "Bitton" is believed to be associated with Thomas de Bytton, a 13th-century Bishop of Exeter, who is said to have built a house in West Teignmouth.
The house, in its current form, was built in the late 18th century and has been home to several notable residents, including Admiral Sir Edward Pellew, a contemporary of Nelson.
Pellew is remembered for his naval service during the Napoleonic Wars and his role in the 1816 bombardment of Algiers, which resulted in the liberation of thousands of Christian slaves.
Over the years, Bitton House has passed through various hands, each leaving its mark on the property. Today, it serves as a monument to the area's layered history and is also known for its paranormal reputation.
